SPECIAL FOCUS: New Industry Surveys

Several new papers have been published reporting the results of industry surveys regarding the use and handling of nanoparticles in occupational settings. One of these assesses the use of nanoparticles, numbers of potentially exposed workers, and the safety measures in place within Swiss companies. Another report surveyed Swiss and German companies regarding the properties of nanomaterial products in the market and their approach to occupational safety. These papers highlight many of the same issues for nanomaterial risk assessment as were elicited by the November 2006 ICON survey. The team that produced the ICON survey has also published a report that delves more deeply into the rich dataset acquired for the ICON project.
