What is Media Alert?

Media Alert is a program instituted by ICON to assist members of the media in reporting events associated with applied nanoscience and nanotechnology especially announcements of findings related to environmental safety and health. Any member of ICON can recommend a Media Alert. Once an alert is recommended ICON solicits remarks from experts to help contextualize the reported event. Media Alerts are not press releases and do not take or advance a position associated with the event. They are a free service to the media community.

How can I subscribe?

Any member of the media may subscribe. Simply send an email to Dr. David Johnson at drj@rice.edu and he will provide you with a password that allows you to enter through the Media Alert portal page http://www.icon.rice.edu/alerts.cfm. A potential subscriber with an email domain that clearly identifies the sender as a media representative will be given a password immediately. Others may be asked for more information before offered a password.
